The Homeward Bound Fund is a collaboration between the Marion County Dog Shelter  Coalition Advocating for Animals, and Prevent a Litter The Homeward Bound Fund loans the money to a dog’s owner who may not have the money to retrieve their lost/stray dog from the shelter.  (We do not assume that loans will be repaid.) Additionally, any lost/stray dogs that are not spayed/neutered will be required to do so as part of the loan agreement.  So this fund not only helps to keep dogs out of the shelter but gets them spayed/neutered at the same time, which helps to decrease the number of unwanted dogs in our community. This fund relies completely on donations from the community in order to provide this assistance. If you would like to donate to this fund, just go to the CAFA donate page and indicate the donation for the Fund. Thank you.
